I am very interested in exploring more links between ABCD and environmental initiatives. The work we do at The Field Museum around community-based climate action can be found here at our website, Chicago Community Climate Action Toolkit.Anyone know other environmental projects using an ABCD approach?

Jennifer, I am looking at using an ABCD framework for building environmental literacy. Green Maps (www.greenmap.org) is an excellent resource when it comes to mapping community assets that facilitate environmental literacy. The definition list of their icons (http://www.greenmap.org/greenhouse/files/gms/Green_Map_Icons_V3_Deficons.pdf)provides a fairly robust inventory list of possible assets (minus the people - not sure how to show that on an actual map).

Thanks Anne, this looks neat. I hadn't seen it before and am glad to know about it. I also helped develop a mapping exercise, called Mapping Green Assets, if you're interested, at: http://fieldmuseum.org/explore/department/ecco/downloads. In this exercise, we have suggestions for how to collect stories about people and display those in ways connected to or other than mapping. If you use either, I'd love to hear how it goes!
