Asset Mapping software?

Asset Mapping & Gift Inventories

Thanks so much for all this info, Dave! It's fabulous to re-visit the "brain" and see how you have been using it!

Have you written this up anywhere else? blog? article?

I think it could definitely benefit the e-conversations that are happening around online/virtual communities!

Asset Mapping software?

Asset Mapping & Gift Inventories

Dave!

Wow! I would love to hear more! I haven't used Personal Brian since this post 8 years ago!

I have heard of a few trial apps being developed though...

Experiences with training and articulating the value to community?

Training

Hi Matt,

What a great thread - thanks for all your wonderful input, too, Mac!

The workshops we offer are underpinned by our desire to build capacity efficiently and effectively and GET OUT OF THE WAY! We often host 2 day ABCD training that incorporates half a day of co-designing a community conversation which participants then facilitate the very next day whilst their new skills are fresh!

There's examples in the blogs on our website or you can also find some stories of practice and application of tools in our 78 page guidebook here: http://jeder.com.au/art-of-participatory-community-building/

Great conversation and I'll share it over to the FB group now!

Regards,

Dee...

Identifying Assets that Encourage Volunteerism

ABCD and Economic Development

Hi Dan,

I have also posted this on the ABCD in Action Facebook group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/429625007423984/

Have you looked at Timebanking?

We have started to develop this, as well: http://jeder.com.au/the-asset-mapping-atlas/

I'll response with a few more ideas soon!

Regards,

Dee...

Intergenerational Asset Mapping in our Rural Community

ABCD and Youth

OH. MY GOD, LINDA!!! My spider-blending-senses were tingling from your previous reply but this reply has absolutely confirmed you are a kindred spirit! Haha!

How absolutely wonderful! I see you!

I had lunch with Vickie and Al, at the Brisbane Botanic Gardens, in Australia last year and found the same feeling of kindred spirit - Al gifted me with a copy of his new book "Impact" and we have been in contact since - in fact, I'm talking with him next week about my visit next month to see if we might be able to connect while I'm there!

I haven't been to Costa Rica but, I have had many skype/zoom calls with Mohit - I was one of the first students to do the Diploma and so feedback from that first group was really important to them!

Your job, is my job! *humble bow*

Please feel free to re-post anything of mine - I think we're best mates now, so it's allowed!

I love how you word my experience as "list of identities" - that is so perfect! I've never liked all the "labels" but find that different people relate to different ones so, which do I cull? Maybe after I add Inclusive Leader and link to your page, I'll just start collecting more identities and make it a game!

What a wonderful post to wake up to this morning! I look forward to staying in touch!

I'm on the road and in planes today! Please feel free to connect with me on Facebook or email or Twitter or whatever you use for contact!

Intergenerational Asset Mapping in our Rural Community

ABCD and Youth

Hi Linda,

Thanks for those links - I love what you are all doing/achieving/being! Wow!

Our org is emerging alongside the Next Stage Organisation principles of participatory leadership - do you know Laloux's Reinventing Organisations work? One of our Collective members is currently in Greece at a Next Stage conference...

I think we would have a lot of synergies to discuss!

Personally, my passion is in the borders and boundaries of good strengths-based practice... if you're game and have time to read a LONG blog, you can find out more about that here: http://jeder.com.au/through-the-looking-glass/

I look forward to staying connected!

Regards,

Dee...

p.s. I assume you know Al Etmanski?

Intergenerational Asset Mapping in our Rural Community

ABCD and Youth

Hi again, Linda,

That sounds great - it would be cool to see what was produced!

Are there weblinks to any of the ABCD work you mentioned in BC? I'll be at the Coady Institute next month (not that it's near you) but it would be good to get more info about what else is happening around Canada!

Regards,

Dee...

Wow! It would be great if you could share the map, Linda!

It sounds like an incredible process and I'm sure it was full of deep conversations, too!

Frameworks for capturing impacts of ABCD

Tips, Tools, Strategies, and Technology

Hi Ian,

I undertook some complementary work in Indonesia, alongside Alison from Coady, with the Islamic universities over a couple of years... I have Alison's M&E final report that I'm sure she wouldn't mind sharing (she's now retired), if you would like a copy?

Also, I have added your conversation to the ABCD in Action Facebook group here: https://www.facebook.com/groups/429625007423984/

Regards,

Dee...
