We will be hosting two Global Gatherings focus on the same question. Please register for only one of these events.

When practitioners first come to ABCD, they learn about the power of associational life. And, if they work in faith-based organizations, they soon recognize the limitations of their institutional structures. Are we hopelessly stuck in modes of doing for others? Have people of faith become consumers of spiritual services? How can faith-based institutions that have come through a year of scarcity thinking put caring people back at the center?

Join together with other ABCD practitioners working in faith-based contexts as we imagine new possibilities for our communities of faith. People of all faiths and spiritual beliefs welcome!

What is a Global Gathering?

Gobal Gatherings are NOT webinars or presentations. They are opportunities for members of ABCD in Action to engage in meaningful conversations. We don't have the answers to the questions we propose, but we'll provide a space for you to share your stories, ideas, and questions. Our hosts will guide you through a series of questions in small groups in order to help you think together about the questions we propose.

At the end of our scheduled time together, you can stick around for the "after-party", a chance to just hang out for 30 minutes and talk about whatever is important to you (optional).

Sean McConnell, United States

Sean lives on Coastal Miwok land in the San Francisco Bay Area and is the Director of Engagement for Episcopal Relief & Development, the denomination's international development and disaster response organization. He is the co-creator of the curriculum, Called To Transformation: An Asset-Based Approach to Engaging Church and Community, and he is currently working with others in his own congregation to heal from a year of scarcity thinking.

Deb Wisniewski, United States

Deb lives in a small island community in Wisconsin, originally the land of the Potawatomi Nation. She is a connector at heart and loves hearing and telling stories. Deb is a trainer and facilitator, and a steward of the ABCD Institute, as well as a co-founder of and the lead community host for ABCD in Action.
