what are your gifts and talents?:Connecting people, ideas, communities
why do you want to join abcd in action?:ABCD in Action is a member-driven online community
How can art & artists be a force for connecting neighbors and unleashing the assets of our communities?
Register here. There is no cost to register. We will be hosting two Global Gatherings that focus on the same question. Please register for only one of these. Please use this Time and Date Converter to double-check the date and time in your part of the world.
Art has great power -- to move us, to connect us, to even start or spread social and political movements. How do art and artists fit into the work of ABCD -- that is, to identify, connect and mobilize the gifts and talents within neighborhoods while reminding everyday people that they have the power to create and lead their own solutions? How can art and artists help with the work of removing labels of need, brokenness or deficiency that are placed on some people in every community? How can art move us from a culture of deficiency and individualism to one of abundance, mutual interdependence, and neighborliness? How have you seen this in action, and what else can you imagine?
Let's gather and see what we can learn from each other’s thoughts and stories. Show up and lend your thoughts and stories to our conversation!
What is a Global Gathering?
Gobal Gatherings are NOT webinars or presentations. They are opportunities for members of ABCD in Action to engage in meaningful conversations. We don't have the answers to the questions we propose, but we'll provide a space for you to share your stories, ideas, and questions. Our hosts will guide you through a series of questions in small groups in order to help you think together about the questions we propose.
At the end of our scheduled time together, you can stick around for the "after-party", a chance to just hang out for 30 minutes and talk about whatever is important to you.
Co-hosts for this Global Gathering
April Doner, United States

She followed the tug of her belief in community and love for people to become a community connector and ABCD practitioner-trainer with the ABCD Institute. April lives and practices ABCD in her neighborhood of Mapleton-Fall Creek in Indianapolis with her delightful 3-year old daughter Sophia and two cats. She's passionate about equality, economy and neighboring and throws great parties.
