Asset Mapping for a School Community

ABCD and Education

Hi Megan,

I would suggest the students and broader school community are involved in the Asset Mapping with you as mapping is as much about the connections and the diverse perspectives to mobilise the assets. I wonder if taking a strengths based approach to the mapping might be useful. What I mean by that is map what the school community has, identify what's strong in the community that you can leverage to get what you need.

I hope this helps.

Cheers

Michelle

Gender Equality and Climate Change

ABCD and the Environment

Reading this article from UN Women Watch had me pondering the role of ABCD or Community Led Development is addressing Gender Equality in climate change.

Women, Gender Equality and Climate Change

I see supporting the shift of power plays a key role and the ABCD Power Ladder offers a tool to imagine what that shift can look like. What I see is the desire to shift power in many places and spaces but the fear of the consequences of the shift is real for those that hold power.

I'm interested in the thoughts of others and stories of power shifts including how they were achieved.
