Hello Africa!

Connecting to each other

Hello Brian, I am pleased to know that you have worked in Nigeria, where I currently live. I have worked with other communities in Rwanda, Kenya and Uganda. I will like to learn more from your discoveries and I feel we will have a lot of things to share.

Regards,

Fash.

Hello Africa!

Connecting to each other

Thanks a lot, Dear John.

Do you have the contact of Hanna Nel? I met another amazing ABCD Practitioner when I was in South Africa last year. It will be great to connect with Hanna too.

Best Regards,

Fash.

Greetings Brother Fasoranti,

I might try Hanna Nel who teaches at the University of Johannesburg in the Social Work department. She is a scholar and practitioner in the practice of ABCD.

Peace,

John Z

Hello Africa!

Connecting to each other

I live in South West and North Central, Nigeria. Although, my work spans mostly within Africa and will extend beyond this soon. I met ABCD practitioners in South Africa and Kenya when I visited.

I will like to connect with more people that are practising ABCD on the African soil.

Hearty Cheers,

Fash.

Garold Elston of Collaborative  for neighborhood Transformation. gelston@neighborhoodtransformation.net has been working extensively on a tool to gather information of groups using ABCD. It is based on 9 questions we ask people living in the community. Everything NT does is based on focusing on assets. We believe open ended questions are better then check questions. The problem though is adding the results into a data based which has taken a lot of work to work but  NT has got the tool ready and it is in use by new communities

Hello Stan, can you please share the name of the tools and how to access it? Also, what are the 9 questions you ask people living in the community?

Asset Mapping and Gift Fulfillment? Meet the Offers and Needs Market.

Shared Resources and Materials

Hello Joel,

I am excited to read about your post and I just went ahead to the links you shared. I am going to dive into this and see how it works. I am facilitating a training tomorrow in Abuja, Nigeria to help professionals to uncover their gifts, life experiences and how to turn it into ''glocal' solutions. Although I have been using ABCD for the past 4 years, I don't mind learning OANM and turning on the flashlight on it.

I will share with you how it goes. Thanks for sharing and keep up your awesome work.

Leakey bucket.

ABCD and Economic Development

Hi Charles, were you able to adapt the leaky bucket for the situation you described here?

I remember we were having a conversation around something similar when I met you in Nairobi.

Hello David, thank you for your response.

My time zone is GMT+1. If a weekend is great for you, so as not to infringe into your regular week, I will be available for that.

You can send me a link to your calendar and I will book for this session.

Best Regards,

Fasoranti.

Asset Mapping software?

Asset Mapping & Gift Inventories

Hello David,

Thank you for sharing about how you have been using Personal Brain. A friend of mine has talked me into using it for the past 3 years and I haven't taken a look.

For the sake of newbies like me and others that have started using it, but not in this special way as you have highlighted, will you consider doing something like a mini-webinar or video to show how this works?

Thank you.

Deadly ABCD

ABCD and Indigenous Communities/First Nations

Thank you for sharing this, Michelle. I was curious too about the word ''deadly''. It's great to read your explanation. I will download your attached document and learn more about the initiative. Cheers.
