Participatory budgeting is a process in which community members come together to decide how a public budget should be spent. We’re most familiar with the use of participatory budgeting in towns and cities, but it’s also gaining a foothold in high-schools and universities. During this webinar we’ll hear two examples of participatory budgeting being used as a form of youth engagement.
We'll hear how The Simon Fraser Student Society is using Ethelo's technology to ask students how they'd like to allocate the student-driven initiatives budget. We'll also be joined by Keystone Policy Center to learn about their collaboration with the Colorado Department of Education to gather student input on how to spend $132 million in federal education dollars.
