I live in Rockhampton and my work takes me to Mackay, the Central Highlands (Emerald, Biloela), Gladstone and also to Bundaberg - most of the time though it is in Rockhampton. In Nov 2008, I attended the ABCD event in Newcastle with Rebecca Rodger from Rockhampton (we were generously sponsored by NDS to attend) and we came back very energised and have been doing a few bits and pieces since then that were inspired by stories we heard at the ABCD event. I am not aware of any other ABCD "practitioners" as such in the area, but there are heaps of amazing people doing wonderful things that are based on the principles of ABCD. We have initiated a community of practice around inclusive communities that is very exciting and I guess the framework of this project is based on ABCD principles, using appreciative inquiry and conversation as our operating system. It is early days yet, but already relationships and connections have formed and there is an emergence of new possibilities. We have no funding, but that is the wonderful and exciting thing about it - what can happen when you bring people with passion and responsibility together - you don't really need $$ to bring about social change!Kind regards,Angela
