Halo Alex,

Selamat Datang to ABCD in Action. It's great to have you with us.

I see you are in Yogyakarta, Indonesia, I'm based in Victoria, Australia. I hope you've had a chance to look around the site. Is there anything specific that you are wanting to learn from or share with the ABCD community?

Please take time to explore the Forum for a range of conversations on a variety of topics. The Media folder offers a range of blogs, stories etc that are definitely worth exploring.

Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions.

Terima kasih,

Michelle.

Thanks for welcoming me.

Of course, I'm very interest to learn about ABCD action. Honestly I'm little bit surprise that I just know about this ABCD approach. Because it's been a long time that we usually use SLA (Sustainable Livelihood Approach) combining with some PRA (Participial Rural Appraisal) to organizing and facilitating for such community action plant in rural area.

Recently, I engage to some many community development program mainly focused in village resilience and sustainable development. There are also some programs that supported by DFAT (Australian government and Indonesian Partnership) in East Java that I unliterally involved.

The issues I really interest are how to combining ABCD approach with SL approach. As a new issues, I still try to understand step by step of ABCD approach which can be integrate or enhance SL approach.

Another personal interest are what the Deb Wisniewski issued about digital asset. It's been since a year ago as my concern in SL approach determined by 5 asset (social capital, human capital, financial capital, natural capital & physical capital), I found there must be another asset already 'important' called digital asset. in fact, issues about our community dependency in marketplace platform, social media platfom, etc, are inevitable.

Mostly our community doesn't conscious the big data issues as digital asset already monopolize day by day by of the platform we used daily. In Indonesia, for example Gojek or Grab (online driver cab platform) already existed in many street even in some remote and rural area. The consequences, there are lot of conventional motorcycle driver cab lose their job. In Short, Gojek or Grab company indirectly take their access of market as they already develo 'big data' and connection between supply and demand (People need a ride as a 'demand' and people have motorcycle as an asset as 'supply').

I realize if certain community for example in a rural or district area already conscious about this 'digital asset', they can be aware to develop their own platfom independently (Can we called it community based database and information system?). So, even they use popular platform such as facebook, youtube, googlemap, etc, it takes as whole community participation. Then, it more efficient, powerful and critically analyze.
